Side Table 02
These tables are designed to adapt to any stone. No matter the size, color, shape, or type—every stone is a valid base. The design allows any rock to become a support, turning each table into a unique piece defined by the choice of the most elemental and abundant material in nature. Even the Yucatán Peninsula—a vast limestone formation—can serve as a base, proving that the table doesn't require a predetermined structure, only a stone to anchor itself. In this way, each piece becomes a collaboration between design and geology, between intention and discovery.
The joint between the tabletop and the wooden leg is crafted using a hand-carved cross-shaped tenon and mortise. This traditional technique ensures a solid and precise connection. At the base, the same system is adapted to insert the wood directly into the stone, establishing an unexpected bond between two materials that are not conventionally meant to meet. It’s a deliberate gesture that unites the organic with the mineral, the warm with the ancient.
